Safety isn’t a feature on Likeness — it’s the foundation. Every likeness on the platform belongs to a real, verified person who has explicitly agreed to license it, under terms we actively enforce. Whether you’re sharing your own likeness or licensing someone else’s, you should know exactly how it’s protected and how we prevent misuse.
How we keep Likeness safe
Verified identities
Everyone is identity-verified (KYC) and must be 18 or over. No anonymous likenesses, on either side of a licence.
Explicit, recorded consent
A likeness is only ever licensed with the person’s explicit consent, and we record who agreed to what.
Campaign-bound licences
Licences can’t be reused, resold, or sub-licensed. Each is tied to a single campaign with a defined scope and duration.
You stay in control
Licences expire, and on expiry licensees must securely delete the likeness data within 14 days.
Hard limits on use
Prohibited uses are enforced: no non-consensual intimate imagery or deepfakes, and nothing unlawful, discriminatory, or scraped for datasets or model training.
Report & takedown
Notice-and-takedown: every report is acknowledged within 48 hours, with licence revocation and account suspension where warranted.
How we prevent abuse
At sign-up
Before anyone can share or license a likeness, they complete identity verification (KYC) and confirm they are 18 or over. There are no anonymous accounts on either side of a transaction.
At licensing
A likeness is only licensed with the person’s explicit, recorded consent. Every licence is scope-bound to a single campaign — defined industry, duration, and use — and can’t be reused, resold, or sub-licensed.
During use
Licensees agree to clear prohibited-use rules and carry data-protection duties: likeness data must be handled securely, may not be scraped or used to train AI models, and must be deleted when the licence expires.
When something’s wrong
Anyone can report suspected misuse. We acknowledge every report within 48 hours and investigate — and we can revoke licences, suspend accounts, and remove content through a notice-and-takedown process aligned with the Online Safety Act 2023.
